In-progress images of a reductive rubylith screenprint. Similar to a reductive relief print, portions of the matrix (rubylith in this case) are cut away between each color run. The cut away portions of the rubylith will remain the last color printed. Likewise, the rubylith that is not cut way becomes the stencil and is printed as the next color. This is my second attempt at this process and I am infatuated with it. Registration has been a challenge but I think I have it mostly figured out. I plan to make at least several more in the immediate future. The “legend” of color along the bottom is a nod to artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, look him up!
